Paules Finishes 11th
in Mahoning Valley Finale
(LEHIGHTON, PA 11-13-11) A
day after their wedding,
Earl and Danielle Paules
headed to Mahoning Valley
Speedway with the intent to
win. Although things didn’t
fall into place for the race
victory, Paules finished in
the eleventh spot out of 32
cars that were also vying
for victory.
It took nearly two months
since twice being
rescheduled but the curtain
finally came down on the
2011 season at Lehighton’s
Mahoning Valley Speedway and
judging but the filled
grandstands and pit area it
was well worth the wait.

Hirschman of Northampton, PA
rebounded from a spin
earlier to claim the big

Earl Paules Continues
Mahoning Dominance
(LEHIGHTON,
PA 8-20-11) Two of the best
Tour-Type Modified drivers
in the region waged a
high-speed game of "can you
top this?" Saturday night at
Mahoning Valley
Speedway. And when the
checkered flag waved over
the 100-lap feature, Earl
Paules, Jr. took home the
$3,000 first-place prize.
Paules, of Palmerton, Pa.,
spent most of the race
battling back and forth with
Dover, N.J., ace Don Wagner.
The two swapped the lead
eight times in a spellbinding
battle before Paules pulled
ahead for good on a lap 91
restart. The win, worth
$3,000, was Paules' fourth
at Mahoning this year and
his second in the
Poker Series. He now has two
Aces (wins) and two Kings
(seconds) in his quest for
the series title.

Finishes Fifth in RoC Event

(8-12-11) Earl “The

fifth Friday night in the
20-car starting field at the

Paules Notched Third
Mahoning Victory Last
Saturday!
(7-30-11) Earl “The
Hurricane” Paules stormed
from 10th spot en
route to his third Modified
win of the season at
Mahoning Valley Speedway.
Paules had worked to second
after a lap-14 restart and
then faced off against a
very much improved Brian
Romig.
Paules was persistently
trying to clear Romig from
the high side but it was
evident that the lead car
was just to solid in that
lane to make it happen.
After coming to terms that
it was just too tough to
make an outside pass Paules
rethought his strategy and
made a slingshot move
underneath Romig with eight
laps to go. He stayed steady
the rest of the way for the
win.

Paules Scores Top 10 in
RoC Tune-Up
(July 9,
2011)- For the first time in
fourteen months, the Race of
Champions Modifieds competed
at the half mile high banked
concrete oval, Shangri-La II
Motorspeedway in Tioga
Center, NY last Saturday
night. The race was the
fourth RoC race scheduled at
the ASA member facility
during the 2010 and 2011
seasons, but the last two
scheduled events have been
lost to rain. The RoC
Modifieds and Speed STR's
joined the RoC Modifieds,
ASA Latemodels, Sportsman
and Street Stocks in a full
night of racing activity.
The competitors showcased
their talents before the
largest grandstand crowd of
the season on a beautiful
and comfortable summer
night. The on track action
began following the singing
of the national anthem by 7
year old Baylee Morrison.
Baylee is a student at the
Hochstein School of Music
and is a National American
Miss state finalist. Her
parents are avid RoC Tour
and NASCAR Whelan Modified
Tour fans, and the family
made their first trip to
Shangri-La II.

Paules Settles for Second at
Mahoning Valley
(LEHIGHTON, PA 5-28-11) For
the first three weeks of the
2011 season at
Mahoning Valley Speedway,
Kunkletown’s Tyler Haydt was
within reach of the
checkered flag
as in each of those Modified
features, finishing a close
second.
Haydt is an exceptionally
talented driver with an
always fast car under him
and those factors all came
together perfectly as the
26-year shunned the
bridesmaid role and wheeled
his Bill Teel owned #16 to
victory. In doing so he
assumed the division point
lead over Earl Paules, who
ironically he had been
runner-up to twice thus far.

2010 Modified Champion-
“Hurricane” Earl Paules
From
Championship Program at
Sundance banquet
By: Gene
Ostrowski
It was no surprise that
“Hurricane” Earl Paules of
Palmerton stormed into
Sundance Vacations Speedway
on opening day and took the
victory. However, it was
surprising to see the
Modified ace compete each
and every time the division
ran, en route to clinching
the first track championship
of his career.
Paules will be the first
to tell you, putting on a
show for the fans is fun but
in the
end it’s all about the
paycheck. That’s the
attitude that carried him to
5 Sundance wins this season,
including a $5000 victory in
the spring. Including those
Sundance wins, Paules had 12
overall victories this
season combined.
Unlike many of his
competitors, Paules got onto
the racing scene through
enduro racing. He was the
driver to beat for years and
during that time he took an
array of big money paying
enduro events. Many of them
had upwards of 200+ cars
that took the green flag.
Following the decline of
enduro racing, Paules took a
break from racing and then
returned with a Modified.
Paules, a former Race of
Champions champion, had a
special agenda heading into
2010 and with big money
races at the two tracks near
his residence it only seemed
fitting not to travel much
this season and hang around
home to race. The decision
paid off and even though he
had to race at both tracks
on the same day to make it
happen, he maintained the
points lead and with his 7th
place finish at the season
ending “King of the
Mountain” became a Modified
champion.
Each and every time he’s
in victory lane Paules
praises his sponsors and
supporters,
which include Ed Spencer
from Ed Spencers Auto Parts,
John Schneider from
Schneider and Sons, Kenny
from H & S Enterprises and
Kerry Paules from Blue Ridge
Service Center.
His hard working crew with
the never give up attitude
is made up of his fiancee,
Danielle Kishbaugh, Bruce
Miller, Derek and Lacey
Barachie, Todd Geist, Cody
Geist, Nik Heck all the
employees at Paules Metal
Works.
Extended lap Modified events with a big payout near his residence is what kept Paules from traveling this season. If that trend continues into next season it is very much possible that fans may see Paules try for the repeat championship in 2011. (Artwork by Kevin Green) Paules Notches Fall Fling Final Win at Shangri-La 2 (10/24/2010)- The Zacharias family from Candor, N.Y. leased Shangri-la 2 Speedway for what they billed as the Fall Fling Final. They secured sponsorship for a three-division event in a matter of days and held the event with no paid advertising. Word of mouth and social marketing worked, bringing in a nice field of cars on an iffy day, weather-wise. When it was over Earl Paules and Bryan Sherwood had won the Sportsman Modified races, Lee Sharpsteen and Jim Yamelski took the Street/Super Stock trophies, and Mike Alcaro won in the INEX Legends division. Much of the crew had been with the Zacharias family at the original Shangri-la and they welcomed the opportunity to work together again at the new facility. The twin 35-lap features for the Sportsman Modifieds were fraternal, as neither resembled the other. Earl Paules and Bryan Sherwood left as winners, with Sherwood edging Scott Adams by one point for the overall win. Read More
